The Section’s aims are:

To provide specialist expertise, methodological underpinning, support and infrastructure for the promotion and organisation of high quality, rigorous, multi-centre clinical trials and research studies, working with health professionals from the development of grant applications through to publication of results at a local and national level.
To add scientific value to the trials portfolio by undertaking methodological/associated research.
To answer real questions facing patients about health and treatment.
To ensure the success of the UKCRN/NHS Research and Development strategies by providing clinical trials research excellence, enhancing research capacity and advising on the development of the UKCRN.
