Section of Experimental Haematology

News and Achievements

Members of the Section of Experimental Haematology (Bonifer, Cockerill, Doody, Tooze, Lefevre and Tagoh) have secured a grant income of £5.3 million in the last five years. Grants were from the Wellcome Trust, the City of Hope Medical Center, the BBSRC, the MRC, the AICR, YCR, and the Leukaemia Research Fund.


Reuben Tooze held a MRC Clinician Scientist Fellowship (2002 – 2007).


Hiromi Tagoh held a Kay Kendall Leukaemia Fund Fellowship (2003 – 2007) and has subsequently been awarded a RCUK Fellowship.


Gina Doody obtained a New Investigator grant from the BBSRC.


Constanze Bonifer, Peter Cockerill, Reuben Tooze and Hiromi Tagoh were jointly awarded a five year Leukaemia Research Fund program grant worth £1.2 million.


Section members published in the most prestigious international journals most of them with impact factors above 7, including Nucleic Acids Research, EMBO Journal, J. Biological Chemistry, Blood, J. Immunology, Mol. Cell. Biology and Cell.
